Initiation Into Faith

"We need to be consistently and clearly proclaiming Jesus in our churches—in how we behave and what we teach in the pulpit—because sometimes people have been sitting there their entire lives and realize, 'Just a second, I just got this. I just understood this for the first time.' So as we think about what it means to make disciples in terms of initiation, it does involve regular good catechesis, being out there and not just in our church, and being consistent about proclaiming the gospel week in and week out."

As Bishop Alex continues to unpack the Great Commission—Jesus' exhortation to the Church to go and "make disciples of all nations"—this week he focuses on what is asked of us in initiating and baptizing new Christians into the faith.
