November 11, 2025 — The Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Krystal Hustead as our new safeguarding director. In this role, Krystal will support congregations across the Diocese as we adopt, implement, and continue to improve the measures outlined in the 2025 Safe Church Policy.
Over the past several months, Krystal has served as a key member of the volunteer task force that adapted the new ACNA safeguarding guidelines into diocesan policy. She played a particularly important role in representing the needs and concerns of our smaller congregations. Krystal will serve on a part-time basis while continuing her work as outreach specialist at Shepherd’s Heart Fellowship.
A native of Texas, Krystal was baptized Methodist, came to know Christ deeply as a young adult, and became an Anglican in her late teens. She and her husband, the Rev. Michael Hustead, have three children. Krystal’s educational background includes studies in mechanical and electrical engineering, early childhood and middle school education, business, and English.
In 2018, Krystal and her family moved to Ambridge, PA, where she attended Trinity Anglican Seminary (then Trinity School for Ministry). She earned both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Sacred Theology and was ordained in 2024 by the Rt. Rev. Alex Cameron.
Krystal worships and serves alongside her husband, the Rev. Michael Hustead, at Grace Anglican Church in Edgeworth, PA. In her free time, Krystal enjoys knitting, sewing, and making order out of chaos.
On November 8, Krystal addressed our annual Convention, giving an update on the changes coming to our congregations by the end of 2025. Watch the recording here.
